Since 2012, the Foreign Language Training Centre has been the official testing centre accredited by the Civil Service Department to assess the English, Russian and Polish language skills of applicants for civil service positions.

Testing is ongoing online at, and English language skills are assessed using the Cambridge Level Test. The test takes 60 minutes and covers the areas of grammar, vocabulary, listening skills and text comprehension. Speaking skills are tested in additional tasks involving 3 oral questions.

A certificate is issued stating the level of proficiency in English, Russian or Polish that is suitable for submission to the Civil Service Department.
