About us

The Foreign Language Training Centre (FLTC) has been organising foreign language training for more than 27 years, having gained experience since 1997. We specialise in teaching adults, offering both general and subject-specific courses in English, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish.

Our clients are employees of institutions and businesses, civil servants and Lithuanian citizens seeking to improve their foreign language skills.

With more than 27 years of experience, we have acquired the competence to teach languages in a wide range of professional fields, such as banking, finance, law, management and administration, border security, police and military languages, and nursing.

Since 2012, we have been assessing individuals' level of foreign language proficiency, which is particularly important for recruitment to the civil service. In addition, as of 2022, we are one of the most popular teachers of the state (Lithuanian) language among foreigners, especially Russian and English speakers.

Feedback from course participants

"The course was very engaging, interesting and useful. The lecturer, Jeffrey, was more like a good friend. He did an excellent job. The most interesting topics were: the future and seeing the future, mindfulness, resilience, meditation, as these topics are relevant to personal growth, vocabulary, speaking, everything was great.

I felt like a more mature, more knowledgeable person at the end of the English C1 course. I am grateful for such a wonderful opportunity to both learn from/with/alongside Jeffrey and to meet him. In the future, I will consider continuing my course only with this wonderful teacher/person :) Thank you for the opportunity."

Translated from Ukrainian:

"Good afternoon, we would like to thank our Lithuanian language teacher Loreta from our family in Ukraine. We learned a lot in 6 weeks, the lessons were always positive and she explained the topics very clearly. We did our homework with pleasure. We even remembered our youth - September 1st, greetings and flowers, and the last bell (lesson). We didn't even want to say goodbye. Loreta is a first-class teacher who teaches many languages, and we will definitely turn to her again for knowledge. Thank you to your organisation for giving us the opportunity to learn Lithuanian, we are very grateful to you."

"My teacher Dalia Kybartaitė was amazing. A true professional. The choice of textbook is very commendable. It is quite challenging, but the course provided much-needed basic German skills, and a lot of attention was paid to conversational skills, which will definitely come in handy in the future. In future, I would suggest that this course should be considered for a once-a-week language course. Learning twice a week for a few hours at a time is quite a challenge when you work. In any case, I highly recommend this language course. Thank you."

How can I help another speaker?

My main tasks are:

  • Teaching language structure and grammar - I teach grammar, sentence structure, usage rules and other language features so that students can communicate correctly both in writing and orally.
  • Vocabulary development - I help students learn to use everyday words, phrases, thematic vocabulary, depending on the learning objective (e.g. work-related, academic or everyday language).
  • Developing reading, listening and writing skills - I focus on developing language skills, using a variety of techniques: listening exercises, text analysis, writing exercises, discussions and more.
  • Discussion of culture and everyday life - Lithuanian language teaching often includes teaching about the country's culture, traditions, history and everyday life to help students integrate better into Lithuania.
  • Support and motivation - Often speakers of other languages have difficulties when learning Lithuanian, so I am very patient, motivating and ready to overcome language barriers together.

Here is an article about me, Lithuanian language and teaching. Can be used for.
